Woodruff who?
Bob Woodruff. Remember him. If you like to keep up to the current news you should know who I am talking about. This is a classic situation of how America reacts to ANYTHING. Let me explain.
ABC’s “World News Tonight” was undergoing an anchorman change due to Peter Jennings recent loss to cancer. Bob Woodruff was one of the front runners as he anchored the news several times over the course of a few months. As ABC was making their decision of the Anchor spot, they sent Woodruff to Iraq to cover the war. In the middle of making a documentary for his demanding job, Woodruff was severely injured by a roadside bomb. This is where I get frustereated at the “behind the scenes politics”.
Woodruff had all the support he needed to recover and ABC seemed genuinely concerned with a speedy recovery to get their “future anchor” back. Not so much. After a few updates on his recovery and successfully convincing the viewers that he would be fine, his career went from 60 to 0 in 0.5 seconds.
Now, I realize that he was severely injured and he may even had some facial damage. But this treatment of Woodruff is how America treats their “quote, unquote” heros. An individual makes a sacrafice, there is a story on it, people move on. Never heard from again. If I had a dime for every time I heard, “and we will have a follow up as soon as possible” and never hearing from that story again, I’d be telling Rosie she is a big fat degenrate lesbien. Just put some thought into this. All that support crap they have been shoving down our throats for EVER is just show. I feel like my soul is being tortured. JUST TELL US THE TRUTH AND SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!
